The State of Hip Hop

The State of Hip Hop
Rap music has changed.  If you look at the quality of music and lyrics in rap and how it has changed in the past few decades since rap legends like 2Pac, it’s different.  Though music played in clubs and on the radio sounds good and feels good to dance to, the lyrical component and the message coming across is whack!  Songs about girls, or I should say, ‘bitches’, drives me crazy seeing how much it’s changed from 2Pac’s ‘Keep ya Head Up’.  Unfortunately, this is what sells.  This is what is on the radio and on the clubs, and that’s what makes you platinum.  So all the rappers out there trying to revolutionize the industry and start a rebirth of Hip Hop are all underground and no one gives a flying fuck about them.  It’s no longer about being lyrical, you gotta be political.

Check out these guys that are about revolutionizing hip hop and just straight good lyrical talent.
